The National Board approved Board Training at the 2011 NBM.
This requires the National Executive to develop three training modules - Risk Management, General Board Training, & Finance - and provides the budget for travel for a trainer to come to you.
Your entire board is eligible to receive training at least once every 18 months... maybe even more frequently (if we can train several chapters at a time).
The first module is Risk Management - available now! Whoo hoo!
Risk Management hits every part of your Chapter. It is not just about forms and saying "no!" It's about supporting enabling us to achieve the goals of our fabulous programming.
In fact this training has now been delivered to Saskatoon, Victoria, & Vancouver.
LENGTH: 1.5 days (e.g. Friday evening & Saturday)
WHO: entire board - you could also include other key players in your chapter. Minimum 5 people, ideally 10-12.
CONTENT: RM training, acquaintance with international and national RM structure, new policies, insurance and your chapter, available resources, tips for implementation, drills and scenario run-throughs.
COST: Zero for the training; you'll need to provide accommodation for the trainer (National Risk Manager) & the visiting board members, and meals, snacks, coffee, & chocolate ;-)
NEXT STEPS:
- email the National Risk Manager (riskmanager@ca.cisv.org) with your interest - you'll get back some very general time frames
- coordinate with another chapter to select some dates within those time frames...have a couple of options - remember, we're ALL volunteers....
