Youth building social capital
Each local CISV chapter has an active group of young people called the junior branch. This group is open to anyone who wants to be involved (starting at age 10). JB organizes regular activities, community projects, workshops and minicamps. Completely youth-led, and self-governing junior branch applies the CISV goals to the local community while participants learn, play and develop leadership. JB activities are aimed at building community, developing skills and promoting peace through education.
Junior Branch is based on a core set of goals. They are:
1. Building an Inclusive Community
2. Developing our Organization
3. Advancing Leadership
4. Educating By Experience
5. Empowering to Reflect and Act
